I had a VIN sticker made by Bear Creek and I was not thrilled with the outcome. The edges on the printing and the yellow boxes was fuzzy. Tried twice with them and had the same results.

If anyone knows anywhere else to get one made let me know.

I soliciated "Jeffs73" and his is Nov 72 #22872. I would keep at it a little longer before ordering a sticker. You may still find one that will verify Dec or Jan.

Thanks dvader, it is really nice to have all of this help, it would have taken me years to get this info and probably some jail time for vehicle prowling trying to get #'s off of jeep dashes! 74cjrenegade, did bearcreek say that was as good as it gets or was there a problem with your decals, does it still look authentic? How is the quality of the sticker itself, does it look like it will peel off with a little time or does it stick pretty good and handle the elements, heat, water, ect. Thanks guys.

Wow, difference of only 62 on the serial #'s, probably made the same day! What color was your jeep orginally MY73CJ? I wonder if they were all the same on a manufacturing day. My jeep was a pale yellow color when it was new with a 304 and 3speed. Mine has a tailgate also, How about yours? You need to fill out your profile so we know what your jeep is, where you live, ect. Thanks for the info! Then it's settled, Unless mine was made on new years eve, haven't found any beer cans shoved inside of body panels, I believe that my jeep is a Jan. 73. Thanks everyone for all the info, this has been fun!

Yes it has been fun. Good Hunt! Someone, that knows how, should take this information and start a "sticky" database of 72-75 DOM-VINS.

Please enter the dates and VINs into profiles! Mine is 46001, and when i was trying to get dates the best fit i got was a Febuary '73 date. This stuff is great for those of us not lucky enough to still have stickers and plates.

Yup, using 7581 jeeps an month divided by 4.3 weeks per month and five day work weeks works out to 352.6 Jeeps per day. I would bet that Dana's is really March based on Caveman's info.

Looking on the web I found that in the 29 years of production there were 611k cj5's made. That is about 21k a year. Production did vary from year to year and it looks like there were about 30k produced in 73. This is all info I found on the web so take it for what it is worth.

My sticker is a bit of an oddball. The lettering of the word "Jeep" is the older style and the lettering of the word "CORPORATION" is the newer italisized style. So Bear Creek had to have this one special ordered. I think it may have been hard for them to do. Very nice people and they go out of their way to make you happy. I say get it and see! It is only $18!!

Oh, my Jeep is a 1974 with a Sept 1973 manufacture date with a production number of 09523

I'd like to see a database of sorts too for 72-75. My dash decal is missing and I would like to replace it.

Just a thought, but I prowl e-bay and other sites that post pics hoping that they will show the decal in the pictures. It's a long shot, but every little bit helps.

Sure did. Thanks. Mine's a '74. I went to the Members List and searched by "74" and found most of the 74 owners. Some had build dates, most did not.

I guess you will have to start a calling all 74 cj owners tread. If 74 model year was similar to 73, I would guess yours as being a May. 74.
