My fuel tank finally rusted out, so I ordered a new one. Since I was going to have the fuel tank off, I decided to replace the sending unit as well (that and I broke the sending unit when I was removing it  )... now my fuel tank is reading about a quarter of a tank off. When it is empty, it is about a quarter of a tank, and when it is full, it is pegged to the right (about a quarter of a tank's width on the needle). Is there a easy way to adjust the gauge reading, or do I have to remove the fuel tank and adjust it at sending unit? If I have to adjust the sending unit itself, any good way of doing that?

    Thanks in advance,
    Brian

i believe you have to adjust the sending unit. as far adjusting the guage i suppose you could use resistors......but i think it would be harder to figure out how much resistance you would need to correct the reading.

if you pull the gauge out of the cluster housing and look at the back of it, there are two small screwdriver slots in it. one adjusts the regulator, the other adjusts the gauge element.
