Using the race already mentioned, the one you ordered should cure your problem. I did the same conversion using those same parts many years ago and that's what you have to use when using drum brake spindles as the disc brake spindles push the hub and bearings further out and allow everything to aligh correctly. I'd recommend a National 8430s seal also, or at least a seal that isn't designed to push the lip in towards the hub. Sometimes you can't put the seal all the way in the hub with the thicker race or the lip hits the inner bearing. The National 8430s seal has enough material on the outer ring to allow it to press in and hold and still allow some space between the inner bearing and the seal lip. Nickmil

Posimoto and Nickmil are the winners. I got my Timken bearings in today and they were in fact the LM501311. I pressed the new cups into the inner side, then temp installed the bearings and hand tightened the spindle nut. Even before getting the hub trued up it looks like it's going to work. I now have just over a 1/8" clearance between the rotor and the bracket. I can slide the caliper on with the pad, although it is still tight on the inside. I still might take off a 1/32" from the inner pad. Machining the hub for the rotor to seat properly will probably take off another couple thousanths. Altogether I think this is going to move the rotor slightly less than 3/16" from where it was, which should work. The hubs are back at the machine shop; hopefully will get them installed Monday. Will post final outcome then. Thanks for all the help.

I have to give credit to Nickmil as I'm pretty sure he got me going in the right direction on the bearing. He had given me the race #, which I promply lost and rediscovered it via the bearing book.
