need most of a drivetrain for my '68 project, and found a parts Scout 80 for sale locally. As I understand, they have a T90, D18, D27, and D44. How do these do as parts donors for an early CJ with a 225?

The T-90 won't work to a Jeep motor as they have different input shafts and some have the gears cut backwards (I have yet to figure out why), the 18 transfer will work, the 27 and 44 are different widths than the Jeep, they are wider. I'm not sure on the frame width but I think the 80 is wider, but a tape measure will tell. Nickmil

I believe the wheels will swap, too, if that's any good to you.

The front axle, IIRC, has 0 degrees caster. If the perches line up and you can bolt it in, you'll need steel shims of 5-6 degrees between the perches and the spring pack for positive caster to maintain steering control.

I've been watching one rust away for 13 years in a driveway just 3 doors down from my house

I have a cluster gear for a t-90 but the 3rd gear has only 32 teeth.
Nothing Jeep ever used. some think it was IH or something.
I could use it if I could find the proper input shaft to mate with it.
    Hum?
