Hi Guys I finally got the NOS Kelsey-Hayes 15x8's installed on my '75 CJ5. The Rims would not fit at first because of the Rivets on the inside over my 11" Drums.

So I had to get a set of 1 1/4" Spidertrax Wheel Spacers. So it worked out and the truck is now much beefier. Like a Bulldog. The truck has a much more pronounced stance.

I had my Brother bring them up from Tennessee. Then I had the Rims Sandblasted and Painted the red you see in the Pics.

Everyone thinks the truck rocks now. I also just had a set of Rancho 9 way adjustable 9000X shocks installed. I have the shocks set to 1, the lowest setting, and the ride is now very smooth.

A Special Thanks to Sparky for finding the Rims for me.

    Todd.

Here's an added bonus: Okay, I have Stainless Steel Lug Nuts, If you look closely, you can see that the Studs are also Stainless Steel. That's from the Spidertrax Spacers, because the Original rusted Studs are now hidden by the Spacers, (using the Spacer Studs for the wheel Studs).

Before, even though I had the Stainless Steel Lug Nuts, the original Studs were all rusted. But now the Studs are also nice and new looking. Cool Eh? I didn't even notice this until I started taking Pics of the Truck and a friend of mine mentioned how nice he thought the Studs and Lugs Nuts looked.

Actually, the Red Rims are really a love it or hate kind of thing. I have some people saying that I should have put Chrome wheels on it and that they think the red is ugly. then others who say they love the Red Kelsey-Hayes Rims.

Hi Sparky, I paid $280.00 U.S. for 4 Spacers shipped to Toronto. But $30.00 of that was shipping because they had to ship to Canada. They would sell a set of 4 for $250.00 free shipping in the States.

Here's the link, these guys are great. I got the Rancho 9000X Shocks from these guys too! They have fantastic customer service.

Don't forget, the Spacers also add an extra 2 1/2" to the width of the axels. So the truck just looks a lot more squatter, almost like a Bullldog. So when you add the Spacers, you get the added bounus of the Kelsey-Hayes 15x8's being able to fit on your 11" Drums + the Truck looking meaner.

Sparky, don't take this the wrong way. But I've seen PICS of you CJ5 and I love it, but if you added a set Kelsey-Hayes 15x8's with the 1 1/4" Spacers, your rig would look really cool!!!

I just think that the CJ5's need that extra width.

Should clear the brake calipers too. ;)

I figure with the 10" wheels on there now that the 8" wheels would stick out just as far.

Prolly just forget it and go with some aftermarket wheels though. I don't really like the wagon wheels.

I'm pretty sure that Kelsey-Hayes never made a Chrome Rim for a Jeep.

Aren't the K/H wheels riveted too, instead of welded? Or is I mistaken?

Are you going to have any tire to fender contact on full suspension compression / articulation?

That's my worry with the spacers (I have a set to try up front - as a way to regain some turning radius on the CJ6) but I'm worried they're going to lead to the tires eating the sheetmetal.

Did you actually need 1 1/4" spacers? What size tire are you running?
I think you could get by w/ a 1/2" spacer or less.
I'll have to measure. I don't want to use fender flares or have rubbing that is why I ask.

Hi Kodiak, well from what Iv'e read, 1 1/4" is the least that you can go and still have some type of safety. I'm not sure if you can buy Spacers less than a 1 1/4".

I don't think that I needed the full 1 1/4" to clear the Rivets. I think that 1" or 3/4" would have done it, but again, 1 1/4" is the smallest you should go. Now this isn't so bad, as it makes the truck have a much meaner stance.

I'm running 31x10.5 Mickey Thomson Bajas.

    Todd.
