Please take a look at #5 in this photo.

Should I have this set-up on both the front and rear set of springs? The reason I ask is, My front shackles bolt throught the frame, not this bracket(there isn't one). There are 2 different sized home-made shackles on my jeep. I'd like for the MORE shackles to work all the way around. I couldn't use the set I bought because of this. Also, there is no indication of this particular piece ever being on the frame. I'm so stinking confused...........

You've got the reversed (rear) shackles on Speedy, no?

Yes I do. There is no shackle bracket for the front set. The shackles bolt through the boxed frame. There is a pivot point at the front bumper (#6 in the photo).

Also, If you look for shackles, both the front and rear are the same part number. There is no way the small ones that I have in the rear ever would have worked in the front. I know this is tough without a picture, but I think I am explaining this correctly...

The rear springs have both #6 and #5 mounted to the frame. Shouldn't the front spings?

I called the fine folks at Krage. He agreed that I should have #6 and #5 at both ends of the jeep. I ordered a set of the #5's for the front. I now have a weekend project ;) I will be able to use the MORE shackles I bought :D

All of the pics I've seen of a '56 has #5's on the front. It's strange
Speedy didn't have them. I didn't recall not seeing them when I saw a
    while back.

I think it was a PO thing. Not sure why it wasn't done correctly, though. Must have been damaged or something... Who knows :?

M38a1/very early CJ-5's had #6 at the front but had a piece of tube with a bushing in the frame itself for the shackles for the "reverse shackle" that was used during that era. If you have a very early 5 frame or M38a1 frame that is why your front suspension does not have #5. Nickmil

That's probably it. Makes sense that there is no trace of the #5 anywhere... It will have a #5 this weekend though, along with the MORE shackles ;)

It set even now, but the front shackles are way longer than the rears. This will put the shackle mounts even so I can add the same size lift shackles all the way around. I've finally figured this out... It'll work :D

I haven't been able to use the MORE lift shackles because of this issue. I will be able to now.
