windshield frame/hardtop question

Ok, i'm trading my bestop soft top to a buddy of mine even up for his hardtop & doors.

His hardtop is off his '66 CJ5 and will be made to fit my '73 CJ5......now i understand the windshield frames are different, right?

If so, can a '66 windshield frame fit my '73 tub?

 

The early hardtops fit '55 up to '75. The outside dimensions on the windshields are the same as well as the angle. There are differences in the inner glass dimensions and wiper location. I'd keep your '73 windshield as the glass should be higher and you have bottom mount wipers which his '66 may or may not have. Makes it much easier to see out of. '76 up the windshield angle and outside dimensions were different hence a different hard top. Nickmil.

 

so the hardtop "should" fit ok without too much modification ya think?

I need to replace the windshield frame anywhos as this one has some major rust out issues.
