I'd suggest you keep looking. Try Herm the overdrive guy or R&P, although R&P is on the wrong side of the country. These transmissions are not rare by any reasonable measure. Do you have a T15 now? The Borg-Warner 3-speeds are easy to rebuild, and unless your transmission has broken gears, it can be rebuilt.

You could use the T14 that came behind 6-cylinder Jeeps of that era, but it's considerably weaker than the T15. The T150 from 76-79 CJs is another possibility, but again, not as strong as the T15.

The T15 is an excellent transmission - the best 3-speed. Keep it.

Call Jeff Rhinehardt at 803-448-1358. He is located in Clover, South Carolina and has a good T15 sitting on his garage floor. We removed it to install a T18 for rock crawling.

Jeff has the tranny, 304 bell housing, and clutch assembly. He needs it out of his way. Give him a call and I'm sure you can work something out.

He is looking for a 2.5" - 4" lift kit for his '73 CJ5. He would definately be open to trades...

The T14 has a 10-spline output while the T15 has a 6 spline. So he'd have to have the proper bull gear to mate it up with the transfer case. In other words the T14 and T15 aren't directly interchangeable.
