Making my Christmas list....can anybody recommend any really good books on Jeeps? Some favorites with lots of details and trivia, and lots of good reference photos?

What about home training videos on bodywork and painting? Know of any good ones?

One video that I recomend even though it is not Jeep only is the ultimate adventure by petersons 4 wheel drive. Every year it is entertaining to watch and this year looks to be just as interesting.

Sounds like that's a series, with a new issue every year?

The book at the top of my list so far is that CJ Rebuilders guide by Moses Ludel (sp?) for the early models.

I really want a good recommendation on training videos for do-it-yourself bodywork, that's what I need most.

I like the Jeep Bible by Granville King and Willie Worthy.

I second Granville King's book - though I liked the first edition better, before W.W. jumped into it after Granville's untimely death.

Sheep in a Jeep is a children's classic! "Oh no, the Jeep won't go..."

Sheep in a Jeep is my son's favorite. We read that a few times a day.

Jim Allen has one I think is the Color History of Jeep or something like it. Granville King's and Willy Worthy's Jeep Owner's Bible is well worth the money. The Moses Ludel book is good also.
Never read the Sheep in a Jeep book. Looks good though.
I checked out from the Library when I was a kid a book called "The Year of the Jeep". About a kid who dreams of owning a Jeep and finds one abandoned in an old barn. Really got me interested in working on Dad's old GPW when I was about 10 or 11 years old. Gotta find a copy of that book........

For cool pictures and a breif explanation of each model I like "The Story of Jeep". The best on we've come across for perfomance modifications and how to decide what will work is the "Jeep 4x4 Performance Handbook."
