I thought I would share the yoke puller I made. It only took 10 min and 0 $ worked great.

Now how do I get this metal ring out without damage. I bought a new seal but don't see this part in the cat. so I don't want to bend it.

That metal ring is the pinion yoke seal. Get a seal puller at FLAPS, hook it in and yank on it. Don't worry about deforming it, it's not reuseable, you'll replace it with a new one (apply some RTV to the edge and seat the new seal in the cleaned/degreased housing). Be sure to reseat evenly. The back side of a spindle socket works well to reseat pinion yoke seals when tapped lightly with a plastic/soft mallet.

Another way to get this seal out, drill a 1/8" hole near the edge, screw in a big screw, pull against the screw with pry bar/claw hammer/etc

where do I find a pinion yoke seal. The Krage cat did not show one or i would have gotten one. I'm on my third prototype of the rear hub puller when it works I'll post that. So far they need stronger welds.

I got a pinion oil seal but it does not look like that.

Yes I have the new seal. it's just this looks like a protective plate over the seal. maybe thats just the old design of the seal itself. Once I pull it out I will probably understand better I just didn't want to bend something up if I needed it. Thanks Guys

Local Flaps will have them. If they don't list them for a Dana 25 or 27 have them look it up for a Dana 30 or 44 from a later Jeep CJ, Wagoneer, or Pickup. They are exactly the same pinion seal from Dana 25 through Dana 44. Nickmil.
