    This part is from a Jeepster - why does it work on a Jeepster and not a CJ? I would think that it's all the same - frame, axle, springs, etc.

    shackles in the rear, instead of the front of the spring?

    nope... happened on mine with the shackles in the front. i did have the bds springs with the milliatary type spring holders which come up about and inch to inch and a half off the springs though.
