1969 Jeep CJ5 nightmare

appears that the t/stat is functioning normally.
it is doing it's job
nothing more

 

What a great forum this is. I only wish I had found it sooner. Seems putting all the suggestions together help greatly. Thanks for the blown up picture of the steering column/box, the advise on the water pump, etc. I have maybe one more issue for now. I have a slight knocking like a lifter/valve that just started after I replaced the radiator and water pump. Any ideas and how can I quickly and effortlessly quiet it down?

 

Howdy! Right up front, I'll tell you I have the sole distinction of being more fulla crap than any human should be. Oh, well. Somebody got to be in last place.
