Well, because I'm an idiot I bought this off fb. Didn't need it. it's home.

Guy wanted too much, told him I'd give him 300, he said no way, so I walked.

He messaged me today asked if I still wanted it for 300, I said sure but you've gotta deliver.

Pushed it in the shed, removed the junk in it, and then ripped the sides off by hand.

All cowl tags are in place.

    SN: 8305 198825
    Paint code: 226
    Trim code: 247.

I know you guys said it should be a f134 because of the serial number, but everything is stock v6 dauntless.

Find it hard to believe the previous owner would knowingly go thru the hassle to swap tags to get a title and then lose the title.

Jumped the starter today. Engine cranked a little bit but I think I fried the crusty old starter.

I haven't checked the coil or anything for spark, just curious if the engine would crank.

No starter solenoid on the fender but there is one on the starter itself.

I have been cranking it over by hand frequently so I didn't really see anything wrong with trying the starter.

Well, before I get to far, I'm gonna run the engine to my buddy's dyno so he can test how healthy it actually is.

    Before I take it over:
    Change oil
    Rebuild carb
    New plugs/wires/coil, points, condensor.

    Amy other suggestions?

    His setup:

How long has it sat and how long have you run it?
    Compression test?
    Oil pressure?
    Points?
    Plugs?
I don't know how exited I would get about the dyno till you've done some basic checks , tune up, and have a couple of hours on the engine.

It's sat for who knows how long. Ive got it to crank over, but not fire or run. At all.
I'm not expecting anything really, just looking for some base line health diagnostic info.

I mean, if you have free use of a dyno and the time and energy to pull the motor and use it, bang on......
    However,
Engines that have sat for long periods need some run time to get accurate findings. The rings may be stuck, sticky breaker plate, blown vac advance, and carb issues can hamper any accurate finding.

Again, If it were me, I would spend some time doing compression checks, getting it running, CHECKING THE OIL PRESSURE, timing and advance's, and settling in the carb adjustments before mounting it on a dyno.......

I'm from Wisconsin. This time of year is nothing but waiting for better weather with nothing else to do. Couple that with gobs of aimless ambition.
