Finally some weather you can get out in. Opened the rear diff hoping for a locker, but just an open 3.73 diff. Boring.

Took a bit and was a little sketchy but engine is separated from the transmission. Had to ratchet strap it forward while shaking vigorously and also up via cherry picker.

    Next step, DYNO test.

    Completed Dyno prep:
    1. Rebuilt carb
    2. New point/condensor
    3. New plugs/ wires
    4. New coil.
    5. New oil/filter.

    Any other suggestions for me?

Buddy is having a baby any day now so I'm not pressing him too hard but I'm getting antsy

If it sat a long time it could have collapsed lifters or stuck valves. Mine did. Bent a couple push rods on startup and broke a lifter. It's a gamble if you just start it. I've also gotten lucky and some started no problem.

I've been turning the engine over with a socket every day. Everything is moving easy enough

That's smart. Mine was a mess. Before I got it someone dumped fuel down the carb and with a stuck valve, it started a small fire and torched the underside of hood. It took a lot of work but I sorted it out and I'm still running the same valves with a new cam and lifters.

Marvel Mystery Oil has a product for misting the cylinders to keep them lubricated. Something to consider.
