    Hi Cjer's:
The jeep starts and runs great. The engine is very peppy and in great shape also. The transmission and transfer case is in excellent condition and the 4 wheel drive works great also. It needs some new tires. I would take off to Florida in it if I had good tires on it. The jeep is in very good mechanical shape. I have the original seats out for pictures and repairs. The seats have the original white/light gray stripe material with black sides and backs but they need to be redone. The hood had a black blister which covered the raised center section of hood but has worn and slowly washed off. The paint is 34 years old. I have a picture with the hood open and you can see the remaining blister under the front edge of hood. The jeep has not been wrecked or abused. My email address is thyatt@lexcominc.net.

    Tom

    Hi Jim:
I am open to serious offers. You can email me at my address in an earlier post. I know that it is a rare jeep and probably few remaining that are in decent shape. It is a collector item as for why I am thinking of selling it. I may sell it on here if I get an offer that I like. I prefer something that I can play around in or change something if I wish. It 's value will continue to go up as all limited items usually do. One reason I have it on here is that you cjer's know that it is a rare item and hopefully give me a idea of the true value. Thanks for any help.

    Later,

    Tom

I take your response to mean you have no set firm price and you are simply taking offers at this time.

I just reread this whole thread Brad, and I think he said he was taking off for Florida for a couple weeks. Maybe he's just not returned yet.

I wonder if he'd take my orange JEEP down and drop it off to Billy. . . .

    Hi Everyone:
I am back from Florida for at least a couple of weeks. Sorry I have not responded to any questions. I put the jeep on here to get an idea on what I should get for it. I have got some feedback and a few offers from the forum but they seem low to me and I would think that almost any jeep in decent shape that ran would bring at least $1800 - $2500. This is not just any jeep but a limited production. I understand that approx 600 were made in all colors. I had wrote approx a year ago about changing the front axle to a 72 or later so I could have disc brakes and the users of the forum advised not to do it because it would reduce the value. However if all it is worth is 1800 -2500 I don't see how that is going to reduce the value at all as that is close to what any old decent shape jeep would bring. If that is the case then what you are telling me is that a limited production jeep is worth no more that any other plain jane jeep and actually less than alot of other 70's jeeps? Also here is a photo showing the front of hood where the remaining blister is still visible.

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Tom,
I think what we're telling you is what your Jeep would probably bring but not what you want to hear.

You asked for our input, it's been given. Frankly I'm tired of your fishing expedition here.

You asked us for input, we gave it and the whole time I've observed that you feel you have something far more special that you really do.

Sure it's rare, and nice I'm sure. But unless your Jim Marski, Jim Allan, or a member of this website who knows how many or what a CJ-5 Ren II is?

For us, we all would enjoy it for what it is. Most other people have no clue and could care less. It lacks the sophistication of the later AMC Jeeps with the Ross steering, parts are hard to find at times and face it aftermarket support is poor at best.

So no it's not worth much more than what's been suggested here.

You are free to ask whatever price you like but I'm fairly certain you won't be selling here on my website to any of our members judging by your attitude.

At that I'm locking this thread, this fishing expedition is finished here.
