Hi: I have an original orange 71 Renegade II V6 that I am interested in selling and would like an honest estimate of the value of this jeep. The speedometer broke when it had less than 39000 miles on it and I replaced the speedometer and it has a couple thousand more on it now. The body is in excellent shape. It is solid with very few dings. No rusted out areas except a small spot close to where your heel would set when placing foot on gas pedal. Has original rims and I have the original spare tire and rim. It has the original paint and decals but the paint is faded and getting very thin. The seats are rough from age and I am getting ready to have the seats recovered to the original shape and with exact oem material. The jeep was bought new by my late uncle in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He had no children and it sat in a shed the biggest part of its life. The jeep has been in Lexington, NC since new. No salted winter roads or ocean salt or sand ever. I installed lock in hubs but still have the originals. Did not help much with gas mileage but does steer better. This jeep is possible one of the best remaining unrestored 200 that was built absent finding a garage stored unused model. I can supply some pics for a visual which I am sure will be needed for an accurate estimate.

Can you post the serial number of the jeep too? They are keeping track of Renegade jeeps on this site.

Here are some pictures if this works. I am leaving again for Florida for a couple more weeks so I may not respond to questions until I get home. I have access to a computer so I may monitor if possible. Am interested in selling this jeep.
    Thanks,

    Tom :v6: :)

I don’t know what the going price is in N.C. and with do respect to you’re Uncle my opinion would be $1500 - $2500.

If it runs good - I'd put it in the $2500 - $3500 range. The top appears to be nearly new, the dash and dash pad are in great shape, 5 original wheels are nice. It would need tires, patchwork on the floor, seats recovered, and a paint job.

Nice Jeep. I'd sure love to have it.

Curious, it doesn't have a black hood blister.

What a great Jeep! Too bad about the paint - those Cd colors (orange, yellow) just don't stand up to the sun. Looks like it's been polished right down to the primer.

If it's a good driver, I'd say $3500 is a bargain. I assume there are seats and a matching spare wheel - if not, that would reduce the bargain-ness some. Not sure how the Jeep market is in North Carolina; on the west coast, that would certainly go for more than $3500 if it starts & drives
    without any problems.

<edit> Good picture of the "Intermediate" (ca 70-74) padded dash, that someone was asking about.

In my area, where old Jeeps don't bring much, that rig would go for $1800-$2000. On a good day maybe $2500 max if the buyer new what a Ren II was...

Tom - that's the hard part. Most folks will look at you like you're crazy when you tell them it's a Renegade II. Or they will say something like "Yeah - my uncle had a CJ7 Renegade once. It was really sweat. Did you remove the big "RENEGADE" stickers on this one?"

When that happens, try not to punch anyone! :D
