    Hoping this was related to the clutch fork not being seated properly. I ordered an AA throw out fork, hope it's the right one for my application. I called them, they assured me it's for all 60s and 70s gm engines

    Based on your photo in post #13;
    Looking up parts in the official Jeep manual, based on your Jeep’s serial number, you should have a T86 (
    though only 945 units away from the switch to the T14A).
    If you have a T86 installed, below are the correct part numbers of the specific linkage components for your setup:
    • Clutch throwout release arm; #1378486
    • Lever and Tube (what you call crosshaft); #941232 ( what # did you order from KW?)
    • Cable, 13.62”; #941234. This is the part on the right side in post #13 (connects to clutch TO arm)
    • Rod, 8.91”; #911814. This is the center part where you have another cable in photo in post #13. It should be a solid 8.91” long metal rod, connects to pedal. It appears you ordered the wrong one (9-3/4”, #947223) It should be 8.91”, but post #13 appears to show a cable?
    It also appears in post #13, the lever & tube (crossshaft) may be up-side-down? The cable and rod should pull in a horizontal plane as shown in post#16. My Jeep has an aftermarket Advance Adapter “chain clutch control” (#7116640) assembly that takes the place of all these parts, so I can’t compare.
    With the correct parts (or at least correct lengths of the components) your clutch linkage should be adjustable to give a long-throw smooth engagement of the clutch. If any of these components are not correct, your engagement will not be satisfactory. I don’t have a length on the clutch throwout arm, but this also has an important factor in the ratios controlling the clutch operation.

    Had a t86, it came in the back of the jeep, exploded. I bought a t14 to replace it.

    I was just going by what the manual showed what was original to your Jeep. I think the T86 and T14 interchange for all practical purposes. I would much prefer the T14, and the clutch fork is the same for either.
