Thanks for following, I know it's long, but we're getting there. Sometimes I can't believe this jeep just went through its 21st season with us.

It's great you took all these pictures along the way and can still piece the process together.

Most of it is like yesterday, but you know how it is, I can't remember what I did last Thursday...

May 2016. Some electrical up grades-a new Odyssey AGM battery to start with. I noticed at KOH that a lot of racers use them, and they have good word of mouth reviews. Best price I could find was at Summit. This deep cycle will also compliment my upcoming solar system to run the fridge. (We need COLD beer).

Also got a good deal on a Premier Power Welder at the recent Tierra Del Sol run. Had to get creative on the mounting, and the alternator is 160 amp, which is an upgrade from my old Delco. This thing will prove valuable in the coming years.
This is the throttle control that comes with the Premier. It fits right in my old ignition key hole that I needed to fill anyway.
Got the jeep back on the ramp for flex testing, bump stops, and just plain fun.
That's a 1.000 score right there. I'm liking the travel, although not much up, there is a lot of droop.
This is the end of the shock travel, and the opposite side bump, so that's it. I can't wait to try it.

And look at that shorty flex! SOA will do that. Ready for KOH?

I know, the flex kind of blew me away for leaf springs. And I walked some of the KOH trails 2 weeks ago, they are really torn up now. I have a friend in our camp that ran Jackhammer in a 110" WB tube buggy, with coil overs and it was a chore. I'm a spectator on those trails now.

With an eye on the jeeping calendar, and the fact that I want to drag my M416 through for the upcoming Rubicon trip, it is time for a quick spring over on the Minnow. I have some ratty old (free) 35's that will go on here and look halfway appropriate.

Next was getting the solar wired and tested. I bought a cheap 80 watt panel that folds up, wired in a charge monitor, and conducted a weekend long real-world test. By real-world, I mean 80 degrees, fridge in the shade, panel in the sun, open the fridge every 20 minutes to get a beverage. The jeep will not run for the duration. I was pleasantly surprised that not only did the Odyssey battery handle it, it actually appeared that I could go indefinitely this way. We are good to go, and it only took me a 30 rack to prove it.

Early morning, and we are off. The annual Poor Boy Run. The first trip with the SOA, we are excited.

What a B/A rig. So well built. Way bigger and way better than I can ever hope to build my B to....be. But inspirational for sure. Thank you.

Can't get away with wide axles and tires sticking out like that here in PA if it's going to be street legal. Really limits the options on an old JEEP like we play with. And I am not a fan of dinner table sized fender flares.

Anyway, keep it coming. This is great. And the Woodstock Green.......that's a new color for me. Love it.

Thank you for the nice words. I'm glad you all appreciate it. And you know, we used to have enforcement problems with the tires sticking out, but it has kind of faded. I knew guys that had temporary mud flaps they would use on the highway. Maybe CHP finally gave up because it's so common around here.

Now for some winter couch wheeling. Nothing like wheeling mid week through the trail with 5 other well built rigs. We had 3 trailers that day, so we moved a little slower, but we were only headed to Buck Island, so we had time. Right after this photo at Buck, the green Bantam trailer broke off its pintle and came cartwheeling back at me at Jeep Can Rock. It missed me, but I made him hook up the safety chains after he borrowed a replacement pintle.
One of the nasty little outcroppings near Buck where I flopped a few years earlier.
The turn at Buck. I have about a 100 percent chance of either hooking or flopping the trailer, every time.
Lake front camping at Buck. The trailer always becomes the bar and grill.
In the Springs the next night, the trailer is still the kitchen, although a little high now with the spring over.
Heading out, I'm still not as high as Sam's Commando, but he has 40's, and it's not a competition, right?
