IMHO Titan tool makes the best relatively inexpensive double flaring tools.

There is a learning curve. The smaller forming mandrels can be broken easily, don't ask me how I know. I found the key was to carefully chamfer both the ID and the OD of the tube before shaping.

Buy a bag of assorted tubing nuts, and you can repair brake and fuel lines at home anytime - very convenient.

What are you using to chamfer? I assume a debuting tool for the ID? What for the outside?

Oh and also.... should all the fittings I buy be NPT? Is that the standard on this vehicle?

The OD can be chamfered with a file. The ID I use a tapered reamer (General brand).

Not NPT unless as needed. The fuel and brake fittings are usually inverted flare. Brake line stuff.

Ok I guess im just confused as to what kind of fitting threads are used on the oil canister, the carb, the fuel pump, etc. are they not NPT? If not, what are they? haha. SAE?

I think I bought the line from Kaiser-Willys or Walcks. It performed just fine.

Did you run the engine and observe the leaks?

It'll be a few days before I can start her up again. gotta fix the solex carb first since there is a fuel leak there. I have a replacement on my shelf waiting to go on. Then I'll run it and look for leaks before I give it an oil change, replace this tubing from the lower canister with a hard line, and change the oil filter and gasket.

I have a laundry list of stuff ahead of me. :D Just need to get all my ducks in a row before I start disassembling stuff.

Super excited to work on it though!

Need to verify case by case. Often two different types mated at a fitting.

Yes, check threads case by case
I things like the wheel cylinders will be an inverted flair. My fuel pump was tapered with a brass adapter to inverted flair. It's a lot easier to drill and tap the npt then add the NPT to inverted fitting. The inverted flair will have a little cone inside the threads npt will not
You need to also stay away from the AN stuff because it's different

Not sure what fittings your working with but…

The bottom of the oil canister is 1/8” NPT.
The top of the timing cover is inverted flair nut.
All small ports into engine block are 1/8” NPT.
Some larger head ports like water are also NPT.
Like Joe said no AN fittings on a Willys.

Remember to slide the fitting onto the tubing before creating the flare. I'm sure I'm the only person to ever screw that up.

I buy the near size stick and shorten the side opposite the nuts. You just have to make sure you move the nut to each end BEFORE you make any bends.

That, and make sure the fitting is facing the correct direction before you make the flare.

    HAHAH HOPEFULLY NOT!

This info is great! It'll definately help when im trying to figure out all the bits to get! Any idea which store might have all of these kind of fittings? I went to advanced auto today and the guy wasnt any help. The "dorman" isle there only had a couple fittings but nothing 1/8" size.

I ended up getting a roll of 25' copper Nickel tube. 1/4" size. Hopefully i can get it straight enough where need be with just a basic tube bending tool from Harbor Freight.
