Does anyone know if the Tuffy glove box #35
[IMG]will fit in the older cj's. The glove box looks like it would but I've not seen one in person. The application guide doesn't list it but heck I've come to learn that when it comes to these old Cj's most manufactures don't know squat.

Not sure about the Tuffy unit. I bought the extra-large glove box from Turner 4WD. That thing is HUGE. Very, very handy.

Not with all the tools at your disposal...there are many of us that would love to waste time with phansy machines.

I've got one I haven't installed yet at home. Can check for you. Wouldn't take but a few minutes. If I get home before dark tonight I'll check for you. Nickmil.

fwiw, herm has some of the plastic xtra large glove boxes he just got. sold me one for $16 which seems to be about 1/2 price from the other places i've seen. granted, it's not a tuffy, but it works, fits and is a lot better than what was left of the original black cardboard box that came with the 69.

Zed don't think I can use the xtra large glove box now, as I mounted my fuse box on the passenger side firewall to make it easier to wire and to get to the fuses.

understood. mine was mounted more to the center and lower. the tuffies seem solid anyway. this was just a quick replacement until i can get to the lockable storage stage of outfitting.

$16 for the large box that fits the old CJ5s is a good price! Does Herm have any more of those $16 boxes?

I checked with mine and it fits fine. I didn't look at the bolt holes to see if they lined up perfect, but it fits the stock hole just fine, at least in my '59. Nickmil.

Herm does have the plastic gloveboxes, has some of the defroster ducts as well.
