While I agree on ditching the Ford box, it would no doubt be a lot easier to build a custom mounting bracket and use a GM type II pump with a remote reservoir. I think you could move that much smaller pump close enough to center to clear the sector box. On my 3B, I ran that belt also around the water pump pulley for some additional "bite" on it. This is what that ended up as:

.........I agree with " it would no doubt be a lot easier to build a custom mounting bracket " . There is a Gm mid mount out there somewhere.

Did you look at the old style aluminium power steering bracket shown at jeepsterguru? It is hard to tell in the pictures but it looks to be raised slightly higher. It looks like there is a sweet spot or rethink your brake booster Bronco style.

Had trouble with no spark. After mulling it over I Figured it was the hot wire to the coil. Then Hunting a couple evenings and busy with some other stuff. Tonight I was out in garage a couple minutes and “hot wired” the coil. It backfired so I call it success for now. Hopefully have more time in the next couple days to make it run.

Update to this thread from late December.

I’ve been putting off the startup and break-in run on this 231 to get the PS pump on. (Radiator makes all it harder)

I had 3 or 4 different pumps and two different mounts (three mounts if you count the one I modified).

I tried them all before I bought this 2001 Silverado pump. (one I bought from eBay Fireball found was trashed). It all fits and nothing rubs so hopefully I’m really close.

Only remaining issue is the pressure hose has a different fitting from the old pump to this new(er) version.

    I have about 1/2” here.

    And about 1/4” here.
