Great looking TR. I live that paint, especially the matching bumper and spoiler I have had two TR6's over the years. With the last one, I got a '73 parts car. So I put the frame and drive train together with a '66 TR4A body and made my own TR250. I don't have the fabrication skills that you do, so it's a good thing that the British don't change much in their cars over the years. The two decades fit together like they were meant to be. Otherwise mostly Triumph parts except for some Good Parts and Mikuni carbs.

It's kind of funny, but when I was looking to buy a Triumph, I didn't know about the TR250 or TR4s! lol I like the looks of those more than the TR6's. I wouldn't seek out another Triumph project as I've been there and done that kind of thing. I think I'm just knocking out things that peak my interest at a given moment before I get too "old" or physically unable. However, thank you for posting the pics!!

Hi!;) This next episode of fixin things regards front tires grinding away at the front lower fenders~! I could not turn the Bronco without fear of destroying my precious uncut fenders!

I was informed of options, 1)new tires/wheels/different offset, but that's another 2000 bucks with no assurance of good results. 2) cut the fenders and install the fiberglass things.
I was wanting a Bronco with "uncut fenders"!

Working on my Bronco while on the lift, utilizing low/tall jack stands makes the work easier and for preserving my back!

Here is my solution: Cut a slice out of the areas of concern, then bend the preserved area back in.

Then welding that piece into place
    [IMG]

Double checking the clearance before paint
    [IMG]

It's always good to have extra paint on hand, and clear to boot!

I can happily report I can turn my Bronco with sharp turns without crunching~ now it's fun to drive!!!;)

    Hmm. what's next;)
    dne'

Bonus pic: I made a little device to help remove the heavy wheels, I'll modify this one with cushions and strenthen it, but right now is a God send in saving my back!

You're a brave woman for slicing and dicing a freshly painted body.

    Hi gang;)

I don't know if I ever told the story of where I bought a bunch of parts from a fella? In the link to follow shows it.

    http://earlycj5.com/xf_cj5/index.php?threads/148550/page-4 page 73

Amongst all the parts that I bought from Tim in Mississippi, I bought his engine, an HO 302 and full system exhaust. In this picture(was a video), I had fabbed up an engine stand to run it, my brother Robo was filming me and as it fired up, it was 180degrees off in timing and it was an incredible BOOM!! But looking closely at the flanges where the headers and exhaust pipe connect are flange type and leaked horribly.

I had these sandblasted and then painted them in high heat paint. Very heavy duty pipe!

I did away with the headers which came with the purchase and bought another long tube but with the ball ends~ much better, However the exhaust pipe still were flange and leaked even more so as I tried connecting it to the tube type headers. Looks like it was sealing, but alas did not!
I was going to drive the Bronco to the exhaust shop, but this gave me another opportunity NOT to take it to the exhaust shop;)

I had seen these exhaust cones tools before and it was the only way I could think of to make the recess end to mate with the ball type header. I had to cut off the flange from the exhaust pipes, and the painstakingly saved the flange to use on the "new" exhaust pipe.
with the help of my oxy/acetel rig, I got the pipe end cherry hot and went to work banging on this new tool(held by vise gripes) it took about 3-4 cycles of heat to get the shape I needed~ Wham, wham, wham!!! ;)

This is the newly mated header to exhaust pipe which does not leak a peep! I was so thrilled that this worked!!

It's nice not to have someone always fix things when indeed most the time we humans can do it!

Well, finally took the Bronco to get inspected so I can start finishing the registration. I have clear title, but not "registered". But what was fun was driving the furthest yet~ a little squirelly on the straights, big tires, I do know I need to invest in a new steering gear~ but it is able to be driven and that's good!

It's raining and a little cold, so I put together a blog for my Classic Cars and Tools~ just a fun thing to do~ :)

Have you had the horsey aligned?

Big tires need help with positive caster and toe out.

    Edit, they need toe in.
I'm sure sharp readers will catch this.

    That is a good question;)

I had set the toe at about 1/8-3/32. Camber was within limits, but caster was basically zero
    [IMG]

In the initial phases, I had installed what called C-bushings which control/set caster. I installed 2 degree, but just recently installed 7 degree c-bushings. But just because I installed 7 degree bushings, doesn't mean I get 7 degrees due to my bronco being 2.5" of lift. However, the new bushing made a great deal of difference!! Just remains that I don't know the history of this steering gear, all I did was re-seal it and just hoped for the best, but I hoped wrong:(

Jeez, I have such shop and equipment envy when I look at your pictures.
That alignment tool did it again.

When I bought my Triumph TR6, I really got into the alignment craz! You'll have to go to my link below, but it's worth a laugh, but at the same time~ a lot of work went into the idea~ spared no expense!

Well, while thinking about other projects, or a project, I still have stuff to do to the Bronco. I put some rocker panel stripes, 1 3/4" fender flares, but I was having trouble with the Gas gauge not working, so I pulled down the gas tank(no fun) and found the sender to be bad~ grrr, I have one ordered, so hurry up and wait:(

Nice! How Ford should have made the new Bronco look only with all the correct upgrades. That I would get in line for. But why give people what they want!

I had put off the rear panels, laziness? I had the option between the lesser expensive ABS panels(which I bought)or the pretty expensive other. Most everyone knows the ABS kind has a irritating rattle to it, but I'm still working on securing it with foam where needed. I hope it's not too bad. Had I known, I thought sure I would just slide the new panels in, but nooo, I have to unbolt the roll bar, pretty much disassemble it. More of a pain, not that bad. Tomorrow I should be able to clean up the area and re-install the rear seat. Kind of anxious to drive the darned thing! lol

on the sides of the hard top, I'm going to get some 1/2 foam insulation, glue the same headliner material to it and use velcro to hold it in~ gets pretty hot in the sun on the sides, plus I'd like to have the driver and passenger side glass tinted. The back windows just have a slight tint from the "factory". A little darker might look good.
