I am about to put new tires on the $ sink and have a question. when I look at my front end head on, the wheels on the front apear to lean out slightly at the top. the axel housing is straight and apears to be mounted correctly, but I am concerned about this lean and what affect it will have on my tires over time.

Mine do. I had mine aligned by an old school alignment shop when I got new tires, but there isn't really anyhting they can do for that.

Well I had a crotchety old fart at an old dusty alignment shop tell me one time that

"If'n ya got them rachel tars thet lean won't have no effect on yer tred, now if'n ya run those bias belted buggers yer in a hole difernt werld"

Not that I don't believe him but do you experience uneven tread wear?

Mine were uneven. From city driving though. The front right tire was the worst, as that tire is always "downhill" on sloped city roads.

have to ask my dad. he was the culprit, but there was 1/4" difference in tread wear from outside to inside..

Inner/outer wear is usually due to either bad ball joints (on anything but a Jeep) or the toe-in being off. If you are scrubbing off the outside edge of the tire, I'd bet you lunch that you have a negative toe-in setting. (Front edge of the tires wider than the rear edge.) Clear as mud?

Clear, just wanted to collect opinions, new tires aren't on yet, old ones are old and I only put 100mi on them so they won't tell me much.
