the YF carb on the F head is a military version, the 90* bend
it is not the L head carb
but you already knew that, I'm slow

so the 'airhorn' is prettymuch the part that mounts from the top of the carb, goes sideways to the intake filter? And you don't think it will work on my oilbath intake?

Solex makes no difference, it's the air horn that sits on top, I was trying to figure out if that diameter was different where it went to the rubber tube that went to the oil bath air filter. If that makes sense.

what kinda K&N should i put on it... i might just go with a full on snorkle... the rest of the trucks already waterproofed... why not just raise the intake up to 7FT high... then i can try driving through my pond... i'm just glad i have the correct solex. i'll get the air horn and be good. thanks guys.

I haven't drove through the pond yet... i've gotta get the thing finished, which means spending 1400 more bucks this week and then it's good to go. then i'm going to have to get really drunk to talk myself into driving my baby into a pond and then i'll get pics...

I have Joels F4 here at the house
has an oil bath and the YF
just measured both ods................and the verdict is..........

air horn and oil bath have the same 2 7/16 od; so the hose will work

    {applause} taking a bow now ...................

Now that he knows the diameter, he can measure his and tell us what it is. My concern was it looked smaller on his A1 than did my CJ-5 flexible hose that went from air horn to oil bath. But that was a long time ago. ;)
