That's where my CB extension speaker is, very easy to hear

for tunes, that's a little different

My thoughts exactly.... I like it during deer hunting season, 'cause I usually have a stocking cap on to stay warm and it also muffles the TC grumble.

Took a few days but here is my setup. Surface mounted speakers mounted under the cage. Out of the way and close to your head so you're still able to hear the radio while under way.

No pics, but I built two boxes (out of plywood so they wouldn't fall apart when they get wet) that fit very snugly between my roll bars on the fenderwells (looks like a right-angle triangle with the top cut off). It fits an 8" woofer and small 3" tweeter with no problem. I got the "plastic" cone woofer so it wouldn't fall apart when it got wet. I also added a small (read cheap) 25W amp so I could hear them.

Best of all, they weren't screwed down (just snugged in between the roll bar pads) so you could remove them easily if needed, or point them in a different direction if you were camping and wanted them pointed outside.

I also have two 6" under the dash in a marine type housing that keeps the speakers pointed downward.

That's about the only part of my jeep that is currently functional....

Two 6X9s in speaker boxes mounted on the fender well on each side behind the rollbar and two 61/2" speaker in a home made box attached to the firewall in front of the shifters.
