    You're going to have a real hard time getting that out. I have tried on stock ones and failed. Your thermostat housing is cast?

    Some careful hacksaw kerfs on the inside and collapse it with a punch. If you're patient you'll get it.

    Take a torch and heat up the housing. Might be able to use a easy out on it.

    This. I've removed a bunch of them from Vortec 5.7's that were that bad using this method.
