Omix replacement joint seems too wide for the yokes by about 3/4 the thickness of a C-clip. Cast iron yokes are marked "USA" so seems likely its OEM. Anyone else have this experience?

Price of an assembled knuckle seems ridiculous. I suppose I will open up the distance across each ear so it'll fit. FLAPS part, pulled by dimensions not application, was also just a bit wider than the original.

Before I cut is there a joint that is known to fit?

    Thanks

You could look into a borgeson or flaming river joint.

Are you talking about the upper joint that is a u-joint? If so go to a tractor or truck supply house that deals with PTO style u-joints. Not a big deal if you find the right supplier. Six States Distributors and Tractor Supply are a couple to check out. Take the yokes in with you so they can be measured.
I'd have to look in my stash but I may have a couple good used complete units or one or two with new joints.
I've been collecting them for steering conversions over the years but time to downsize. Pm me if interested so we don't turn this into a classified ad.
