Not sure how old the old mufflers were but had a definite low muffled tone with 1 1/4 pipe. This being 2in pipe has a definite more crisp not so low sound. It is definitely better but will take some getting used to.

My uncle (RIP) grew up with the guy that invented the coffin muffler.
Uncles story was that he was just not quite as mechanically inclined as Uncle and his other buddies.
Uncle said that while coffin guy was in Vietnam he was injured and being evacuated and had the vision of the coffin muffler. By the time he got back, Uncle already owned Jeffers muffler in CA and coffin guy came straight to Uncle and told him about it, the rest is history!
He actually made a really nice painted one for my Aunt at Uncles memorial.

Broke the driver side axle recently. It broke at the thickest part next to the hub, so kinda thinking it was already cracked. Drove a few miles before the tire decided to leave the Jeep. Good times had by all. Probably time for a FF kit. Little bit of body damage as well...gosh darn it. Getting my Jeep on and off the flatbed trailer was quite interesting to say the least.

I ordered a bestop with the hope that it would fit the cage. It wasn’t even close. Bestop would only process a return for 75% and wanted photos of it destroyed. I proceeded to “destroy” it by cutting the windshield channel flange and removing the straps and sent them a picture. We picked up some black marine vinyl and my wife and spent the afternoon sewing the old parts and fitting it to the cage.

Would you consider that ethical? To pull the channel and return it because your roll bar didn't fit.

Stinks that it didn't fit, but great idea to make it fit!

The bestop rep’s instructions were to destroy the part by cutting across it with a knife and send them a picture to receive 75% of the purchase price. I would have been happier if I was able return it but they said it was not worth it to them to ship and restock. I don’t believe it is an issue of ethics after receiving those policy instructions from the seller and then repurposing the cut pile of vinyl which I ultimately paid $25 for.

Original engine and trans out, separated so I could get to the bellhousing and prep for rebuilt engine and SM465. I am close to the place where I get to stop taking things apart...

Not all done tday but finally ready.
I upgraded my steering column to a new Speedway tilt column.
I’m anxiously awaiting the new steering wheel that is about 10 days overdue.

Looks GREAT! Do you have a link to the speedway column? What steering wheel are you going with?

Thanks for the links, I like that wheel too, not garish like a lot of them out there. I'll be interested to see how your linkages work out. I was leaning towards a 30" column but I'm admittedly not at the point to take any measurements.

1st pic is a screenshot from Speedway website

2nd pic is the new column that is bolted in
Notice the difference in height (length) of the brass pin for the horn

after putting the spring in place, the pin cannot reach the horn ring

looks to my eye like the horn button piece is stuck in the bore, or the spring is missing. Usually those are lightly spring loaded to maintain contact with the cancel cam.

    Waiting on Monday to talk to Speedway about the steering column so;
Since the battery in the green B was original to the build, 2014. I decided to go ahead with a new one before it left me out in the woods by myself. It was a NAPA brand that never failed me but at 11yrs old, who knows.

That’s quite the negative terminal disconnect! I have the ‘ol thumb screw style.
