Finally after 2 years of working on the restoration I was able to fire up the 66 CJ 5, wow it was awesome, it started right up and runs great. I noticed fuel leaks in the fuel line between the mechanical pump and the carburetor. I replaced all the rubber fuel lines and started her up again. Now I noticed it's leaking some place on the fuel pump. Can anyone tell me what may be the problem? Do I need to rebuild the fuel pump?

Thanks in advance for this great site and all your great assistants.

Be careful that the fuel pump kit is new and not new old stock the fuel has a lot more alcohol in it it attacks the rubber in higher concentrations if you can even find a kit anyore . T.J.

Stay away from the Crown rebuild kits. I tried one. Didn't even put fuel to it but installed it, sat for a year, diaphragm fell apart.
