I'm making a 2WD axle out of an old Dana 30 front axle but only have the tube and inner and outer knuckles together so far. I need everything else from the knuckles out to finish the axle but before I start shopping for Dana 30 stuff I have a Dana 27 front axle and was wondering if any parts from it are interchangeable that I can use and keep in mind it will be a 2WD front end. Thanks......Bob

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

The 27 spindles, wheel hubs, wheel bearings etc will swap over to the 30.
Just keep the 27 components together and use it on the 30.

    nickmil In mothballs.

You will probably need to remove the inner spindle bushing and install soft (core) plugs in the back of the spindle to keep debris out also.

I'd just bolt in a tube axle from a postal. I've cut up a couple of those after robbing the use able 4wd stuff... Lots of postals out there with that 2wd tube axle that will bolt right in.

Great info guys....thanks. Now for the next step since I'm bolting up 27 spindles to a 30 open knuckle, what disc brake setup should I look for, one for a 27 or a 30? Thanks again .I can always count on the right info from you guys. Bob
