I'm in the process of getting my body finished and I'd like to drill the holes for the footman loops for an original style canvas top. I plan to get one from Beachwood Canvas, but I don't want to spend the money on that at this time. My question is (and I asked Beachwood as well) where do the footman loops go for a 63 CJ-6 top? I know where they go on the tailgate, but thats it. If someone could provide me with some information on the rest of the body I would greatly appreciate it. Specifically I'm looking for locations on the side curtans and back of the jeep.

FYI, Beachwood said they lost a lot of historical data from the flooding of the hurricane a couple of years ago so it was hard for him to help me.

I agree with the above. So you have to drill a few holes when you get the canvas.... It's better to drill once with proper placement than twice because they aren't in the right spot.

The issue is that Beachwood said they'd put straps where I put the footman loops. According to their records there could be 3 or 4 footman loops per side curtan (and their notes said wide variations existed) They said they prefer to do it that way. So, does anyone have any advice for me? I reviewed the above link and it doesn't seem to help me because the M38 doesn't have the channel the CJ5/6 does at the top of the body. Do the gootman loops go in the channel or below on the flat side of the body?

If you look very *VERY* carefully you may find factory indents where they're supposed to go- I found a number of them on Tonk along the top edges of the tub & on the rear panels.

    H. Are you saying the very top of the body like in this picture http://sellajeep.com/sale/ad264/tn_jeep_15_sm.html ? Thanks in advance for clarifying.

What type of screw was used to attach the footman loops to the body? Is it a machine screw or a bolt with a nut?

Yeah, that looks like the same spots.

The ones on the back line up with the bumps on the tail gate.

I finally got a good reference for the loops. But could someone clarify the hardware they are attached with on the body and tailgate?

    Thanks
