Evapo-Rust: BEST STUFF EVER

Guys

If you don't know what this stuff is or haven't tried it do yourself a favor and get a gallon. Costs about $25 a gallon but will de-rust a lot of parts. Especially useful for parts too small to easily blast, or parts like hubs that absolutely cannot tolerate media contamination.

Not a salesman, and I've been away a while, just passing along a hot tip to the clan.

I've used it. Works good but i use toilet bowl cleaner now for $1.00 a qt. Its called "the works" sold at Lowes. Give it a try

 

Unique thing about Evapo-Rust is its ph neutral and non toxic. where I suspect toilet bowl cleaner is probably fairly caustic? But I'm gonna try that turlit bowl cleaner anyhow. I can neutralize with vinegar if basic so it doesn't affect subsequent paint work. Thanks for the tip.

 

I just use it on rusted metal parts where I'm not worried about finished sufaces. Thats my disclaimer lol. Use it outside cuz it stinks

 

If you use "The Works" use it outside, well ventilated, and away from all aluminum. The vapors will attack aluminum wheels and such. Damhik. I quit using it for this reason.
Will have to try the Evapo-Rust.
