Free lock vs drive flange

    I've got a scout dana 44 on my 5. I still have the 6 bolts exterbal hub 27 spline shaft, same as cj's use. I'm having big issu with free-lock, blowing away in winter condition . I got 4 warn premium (2 old and 2 new) and 2 superwinch in 3 years. I've put the last one this week end and they hold on a smooth ride on sunday.

    I have solve my loosing bolt problem with nord lock so issus is not there.

    Now i'm at the the point that i need a sollution. Best of all will be is a 1k sollution, doing an internal hub. Too much for me right now.

    I just think today about drive flange, i read the other topic here but there wasn't talk the difference in strength.

    So by logic it should be stronger....

    I found some place they sell it so before calling them i like to know if it worth the 200$ they will cost me??

    I could run just in winter and use freelock on summer, never had a problem with them on summertime.

    that was my idea.

    About the internal hub, i'm not the king of junkyyard guy, trying to do new with old part in my experience is never good. .

    There kit made for early broncos (disq brake conversion) that are about 500-600$ all new, add shipping, duties and money change and it cost me 1k at my door...

    Also, old dana 44 start to be rare in junkyard, and when you find some, you got part that as been sitting there for year's rusting in the grass.
