    Thinking of going to look at a 75' CJ5. Can someone tell me how to identify which inline six it has (I think 232 or 258) and which transmission it has (I think T14 and T15)?

    T-14's came behind the I-6 stock. T-15's were V-8 equipped.
    Hopefully someone chimes in on the Id of the I-6.

    The seventh digit in the VIN would tell you what was factory original.

    A = 258
    E = 232
    H - 304

    Short of that, the only other way is the engine ID number.
    So much time has passed by, it's possible another year of engine could have been installed.
