Best lowback seat replacement?

    I made a huge error several years ago when I started my '73 CJ6 resto and threw away the original seats. Now I wish I had kept them! Does anyone have any opinions on the best replacement seats that fit well and are comfortable?

    Find a set of originals and have them rebuilt/recovered. Mine cost $400 to have the bolsters rebuilt and custom covers made/installed, but they are far more comfortable than any aftermarket lowback seat I've found. I went through two sets of aftermarket lowback seats and hated both of them.

    I'm happy with Smittybilts in my '57. (I built custom mounts to get them as low as possible.)

    I went to the salvage yard. Older dodge vans. The only part I don't like is the vinyl is HOT in the summer. Otherwise I have spent as much as 6 hours in that seat at a time and its very comfortable. Of course they are not bolt-in, but easy enough to fabricate brackets for.

    Might also try a search as this has been covered a lot with lots of posts what worked and what didn't so well.
