I am about to order a fuel tank for my 1970 CJ5. I am going to purchase a tank that has the 6 screws which hold the sending unit in because it's a great price and from everything I have looked at the tanks are the same??

Anyways the real question I have is when I'm ordering a sending unit, would I be able to just order the small sending unit for the 4 cylinder that does not have the return lines on it? My 231 even fire does not have a fuel return line. It makes sense in my head but I wanted to confirm before I go spending a bunch of money and after searching I couldn't find a clear answer. Thanks in advance!!

Been running no return line since I put the 231 in the '59-5 about 24 years ago. No issues. Fuel line routing away from heat sources is very important though so you don't get fuel vapor lock. Running a mechanical fuel pump.
