Trans cover differences?

    The one on the right came out of this '56 cj5. The one on the left came from a later model but, not sure what year it was. It was a while ago. I never knew there were differences, aside from the 4 speed type.

    There are many differences in the floor covers over the years.
    The one on the left in your pic was for a CJ equipped with the single stick 18 transfer case where the shifter came through the floor cover by the firewall.

    What nickmil said. Also I believe that the single stick was used in all 225 V6 applications with the T14A transmission.
    My Oct69 1970 CJ5 has the one on the left.
    The side part had a hole cut in it for the OD shifter.
