I think this was unique to these years. I am looking for a replacement.

Here is what I have now.

Same on my 68, but the mirror's arm is shorter.

Looks like mine. Mine also has shorter arm. Take it to the glass man and get some new glass. Work the few bucks.

I blasted mine and painted it black, could have used rattle can silver to make it look closer to original.

If that doesn't work let me know via PM. My '71 original is probably still out in the shed somewhere.

Thanks Lynn, if your mirror and mount are in nice shape, I will be glad to buy it from you now.

Pretty sure that style - Jeep PN 979383 - was used up to 1975, though some '75s got the stick-on style. My CJ-6 has the stick-on mirror.

I have to agree with Timgr. I've had at least a half dozen of those mirrors here from '68 to '75 windshields with bottom mount wipers and all were the same. No length difference on the "arm" on any of the ones I've had.

out of curiosity do you guys think they might of used these in other vehicles besides the CJ's? such as the trucks/wagons and such

they look like a lot better mirror than the plastic reproductions that you get now days. Would they work with the earlier models? looking at the picture I don't see any issues.

    I really don't like my rear view mirror...the 66.

Could appear different length based on how the mirror head is rotated.

Same as Jeepster and Commando used. There was one available with a longer arm which believe was used on the Half Cab Commando. I'd have to check the part numbers to see if it was specific to the Commando or if it was also listed for CJ.
