Finally getting around to swapping out my original d25 for a d30. I'm having trouble finding new front spring plates for my 1 3/4" springs. Just wondering what you guys have used. Sorry if this is one of those subjects that's been beaten to death. I did search but didn't come up with much. Thanks:?

Some 25/27 plates can be slotted to fit but Ive found some can't. There are vendors that will or do build them. R&P for one but someone posted up some others.

Warrior Products makes some nice spring plates for the Dana 30 with 1.75 springs. Just got a set and they seem really nice and heavy duty. They installed nice too.
You will want to use the '72-'75 skidplates as they are for the 1.75 spring and Dana 30.
http://www.4wheelparts.com/U-Bolt-Skid-Plates.aspx?t_pn=W/I1710 they are also on Ebay occasionally.

As I recall, in '72 the shock mount moves to behind the axle, so those parts won't work without modification.

If R&P can supply them, I think that's your best bet. http://rp4wd.com/

Good point timgr, I was moving mine to the 72 & later position so I did not even think of that but yes they would not work for the early shock position.

I used the warrior skid plates for the dana 27 so the shock mount would be in the correct place.
I squished the ubolts together with a large pair of channel locks.
I've had to do that with ubolts that should have fit and I didn't realize it shouldn't have fit till later.

Mc Ruff makes very nice stuff. I'd pm him directly. Most likely faster response and keeps ads out of tech (per forum rules).
I need to pull the other plate off this weekend and check condition (make sure it's not bent).
