I am still in the midst of putting disc brakes on my Dana 27. I am not an expert with how disc brakes work so I have some questions.

Based on the below photo, what is the purpose of the 2nd fitting on the caliper? The brake line is attached to the obvious place it should be attached but it seems like there is another place for a brake line. Also, the mounting bolts holding the caliper and pads to the mounting plate are not fully tightened but it is already keeping the rotor from turning freely. Shouldn't I be able to get the mounting bolts to fully tightened before that happens?

In this photo it shows my basic setup complete without new hubs. Does it look like everything is where it is suppose to be? This is my first time doing this.

I appreciate any feedback. I still need to get some new hubs and install the new master cylinder.

...311 race to the inside, ...310 race to the outside?

311 and 310 refer to the last 3 digits of the bearing race (cup) part number. The 311 race is thicker and needs to be installed on the inside (towards the spindle) of the bearing hub. This spaces the hub correctly when using drum brake spindles with the disc brake conversion using GM/full size Jeep calipers and mounts.

Translation to above: The inner bearing cup (race) in the hub needs to be LM501311. this spaces the rotor correctly when using disc brakes on drum brake spindles.

Thanks Posimoto. I always have a hard time remembering the whole part number.

Thanks guys. I will tear it apart this weekend and verify which race was put where. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

So I took everything apart and discovered that all 4 races are 310's. That is a little strange since it all came as a kit. I guess I need to get two 311's. Is that a common part I can get at nappa or the like without special ordering?

If it came in a kit I'd contact whomever the kit was purchased from and get the correct parts from them. If you have the downtime available.
