Probably a dumb question. Im looking to replace the bracket that mounts the dash pannel to the tub, it has 2 holes on the bottom and 3 up top and there are two of them on oppisite sides. However I have no idea what it is called or where to get them. i sure someone can easily answer this for me rather then search the internet for hours. Thanks

Huh? The dash panel bolts directly to the tub. A series of bolts around the perimeter hold the panel directly to the cowl of the tub. You don't however mention what kind of Jeep you are working on so if this is a different model than a CJ or YJ.....
Only think I can think of from your description is maybe you are talking about the hanging pedal support bracket? Pics would definitely be helpful here..... Nickmil

It is a CJ5 I'm talking about the bracket directly above the radio in this picture. This is not my jeep I have a 75.

Maybe you're thinking of the windsheild catches? Those are used to fold the windshield down.

The plates were used on Jeeps that came from the factory with steel cabs.

Repro catches are probably available - check the "where to buy parts" sticky thread in the Early CJ5 forum,

    Yes. We know.
Those two latches are used to secure the folding windshield in the upright position, or the latches can be released to lower the windshield. They have nothing to do with holding the dash to the tub.

In yours you may not have had the "latch" part if you had a factory steel top originally, the latch would have been replaced by a plate.
There is an aftermarket plate often used to replace the factory latch that commonly gets loose.

Here is one scource for them:

That's called a draw latch. McMaster-Carr sells many different versions of them. I have their catalog, but their web address is www.mcmaster.com. Good luck!
