What year Jeep is this?

Anyone know what year jeep this body is? I was thinking of snagging this auction for the body tub, but he doesnt know the year...

I hope I put this in the right area....

 

It's fiberglass so will most likely fit any year you want. It does have '75 and older lower windshield hinges on it though but a '76 and newer style windshield. Can't see if it has a heater inlet grill on it but may just never have been cut in. It's got short fenders so that could be an indicator the frame is '71 and older. Nickmil

 

Appears to be a fibreglass body, no gas filler so made like a 70 or later, windshild is earlier than '70.

edit: It has top mounted wipers Nick, and hinges look like my old '66.

 

short front fenders, 71 or earlier, tub is glass and most likely the only thing stock is the frame, so what year of jeep do you want it to be???

My jeep is a 76, and my frame and engine are good, so Id want it to fit on those. Anyone think Ill have problems? Would I have to fabricate something?

 

For some reason, that jeep just screams stay away from me when i look at it. I dont know if it is the axle he took off of his house and put under the back of it, or the fact that he didnt even care enough to put the fenders back on at least partway to try to sell it.

I agree with Karlvin08. Dont know what it is, maybe the horrible sccoop or perhaps the retched pain job; but it just screams stay away like an angered skunk.

I was lookin at that on ebay yesterday, and got a good laugh! Gota love that rear axle!

 

Holy %*@&! just went back and looked at pitman are. (if you can call it that)

 

My jeep is a '76 too, and there's no way we can modify the earlier parts to fit.

 

Thanks - thats what I figured. I know there are posts on how to do it, but I dont want the effort.

And by the way everyone - I wanted it only for the tub - you cant beat $350 for a fiberglass tub anywhere - the rest would be garbage.

 

Well, I don't know.
Don't care for the way the steering mount looks (from what I can see of it).
Would make a good dune buggy maybe. How hard wil it be to unmount the full roll cage from the frame tie ins to get the body off? And is that what is holding the body together, maybe.

Don't know if I would even give three hundred for it.R)

Could be the rear axle is just so he can push it around to work on it.

I'd send him a pm or email explaining what a P.O.S. he is trying to sell and say I'll take it for $200 just for the frame and some parts.

Then u can positively ID the body and frame, take what u want and sell the rest. I'd buy it to strip it, sand and primer the tub and sell the tub only for $500 ($300 profit) and do similar to anything else I could salvage.
