Does anyone here have any experience with the ATV MFG. Overdrives? I noticed them on Herm The Overdrive Guy's website and they are a little cheaper than the Saturn units.

Also, what is the difference between a "front shift" and "rear shift" unit?

    Tks

front shift, the shift shaft exits the front of the od unit and can have interferance probs with the linkage over the transfer case, rear shift has the shift shaft sticking out the back where there is lots of room for linkage, IIRC.

They're rebuilt Warn units. Herm sells them refurbished as they are NLA new.

Herm manufactures both complete new units and rebuilt units. His units sold as new ATV units are new and do not contain used or reconditioned parts. When I purchased mine, I went with a rebuilt unit to save more. I have heard that AA is taking an extended period of time to fill orders, so Herm is a good option.

Give him a call I know he'd be happy to help and will work with you to make sure you get the right OD for your application.

Herm is a really nice guy, and took the time to answer a lot of questions over e-mail about my Koenig winch setup. I'm going to send it to him for some bushings...just haven't gotten around to it yet.

One thing Herm does that AA doesn't is make the shift fork from bronze like the original Warn unit was made. Advance adapters still makes theres from aluminum and they have a tendency to break where the bronze ones don't.

I've dealt with Herm, and can say that the items I got from him (parts for a husky overdrive) were top notch, and he was great to deal with. Very helpfull.

The difference between the front shift and rear shift overdrives is that the front shift is for transfer cases with 26 teeth and the rear shift is for transfer cases with 29 teeth (both being for a Dana 1 8 ). Herm is a great guy, very reputable dealer and his prices are very reasonable.

I just discovered my Jeep has a factory Warn OD. I don't think the PO knew about it. Sad thing, the OD is hooked to a shifter he though was 2vs4 wheel. Now I have a transfer case without any shifting levers. One step foward 2 steps back.

I have a couple of thousand miles on one of Herm's new ATV overdrives and am very satisfied with it. Like everyone else said, Herm is great to deal with.

No such thing. All were dealer or owner installed. Just FYI.
