Where's the green with envy icon???? I like the looks of the XJ clutch master. Can you tell me if the master/hose/slave is all joined as one assembly or can the three be separated?

My clutch master is shot and the XJ design looks like it would make for a cleaner install anyway. Whether it will work with my slave cylinder is another story though...

Yup Mike they all 3 seperate from eachother. From the looks of it I believe its the same clutch master thats on YJs also.

Nice. I think I'll have NAPA drop one off for inspection tomorrow.

The TJ's have a plastic hose, joined to the master and slave with a roll pin. I thought YJ's and XJ's were the same, but maybe you're using an earlier model. Mine is out of an S10, it doesn't go straight through the firewall, it is on a downward slant.

My 2000 TJ needed a slave in a hurry, so I grabbed one from a '95 XJ, and the whole system is the same except for where the plastic tube enters the XJ master it is in a different location from the TJ master. Interesting, must have been a mid 90's change. Nice to know, I must check out the earlier XJ slaves.

Since we're comparing, I found different part numbers for XJs and YJs. I looked up masters for model year 99 and found that the TJ and XJ masters were different from both one another and from the earlier units. I'm lucky enough to be able to have NAPA bring me one of each so I can check them out to see which will work best, then send the other three back.

I'm hoping that I can find one that has a hydraulic fitting similar to the one on the Chevy hydraulic clutch linkage I'm using. I guess I'll find out when they arrive...

Got my shocks in on Fri. and started mounting them today. The shocks are Bilstein 5125s 14" travel. Bent the front hoops up and added a bar to the rear part of the cage for the shock to mount up to..

HeyJason, show some pics of the rear shocks. It looks like you have a hoop. Did you notch into the body or are the axles wide enough to keep them away from the tub.

I cut a hole in the top/side of the fenderwell for the shock to pass through and added that diagonal bar in the cage with some tabs on it for the shock to bolt to. I think I got a pic of it where it passes through....let me check....

Gotta redo the steering, didnt like how it turned out the first time :( But other than that all the big stuff is done. I'll start taking it apart today or tommorow so I can finish up the interior sheetmetal work, weld everything up, clean/paint everything and then it will be time to put it back together. And hopefully hear it run/drive in a week or two.
