I am trying to make my '66 98% stock and ne of the things I would like to leaver is the air cleaner. Does anyone happen to know if this is an orginal air cleaner for a '66 w/ Dauntless V6? I am trying to see if I can come up with all original decals if possible. With two "AC" logos on the frnt of the cleaner, I am thinking it is an AC Delco.
    Thanks,
    :v6:

I cannot find the correct decals anywhere. As I recall, the cleaner has 2 decals a large in front and a small on the side. If I can verify it is correct but cannot locate decals, I will see if beercreeksurvey can design one for me.
    Thanks,

This is my unrestored 66 (Nov65 build) with 31k miles. Note the factory painted bypass hose. If you are interested in pictures of other "original" details like the white fan and crank pully or early dual-pipe fuelline routing let me know.

My 66 oil bath has indication that there were two decals on it. One at front and another beside it. Would that possibly be for timing and point setting? Havnt seen any of these decals anywhere? Tnx Walt

Thanks for the input. If you could post pics of "odd" details that would be great. I'll take all of the info I can get.
    Thanks,

X2 Good Show. Any indication of a second decal having been on your breather housing?

I don't see any marks or remains of a breather sticker.

Ben, I was just looking at the stripped front end pix you posted. Do you have the heat shield that holds the fuel filter and blocks manifold heat? Its sheetmetal and I can shoot a picture of it also.

The dual pipe fuel system on mine has both lines running along the right side of the oil pan and crossing to the frame just in front of the steering gearbox. Rubber lines make the transition to the hardline on the frame that starts immediately behind the steering gear. The return line comes up through the floor near the fuel filler and attaches to a 90degree fitting on the top of the tank,

As far as color details go, my oil filler cap is black.

    Thats it!
Mike, are those pictures of your 71? The fuel lines are different than in my 66. It looks like yours are what is spelled out in the FSM. There was a change sometime during the 66-71 period when the supply and return went from being under the engine to going over the top.

    Your project looks great.
