My Acme fiberglass top was delivered today....

I've found a write up about re-finishing (this one needs it) but nothing on installation. Any advice (pictures are helpful) regarding how to mount to body/windshield?

It looks like originally, it was screwed to the inside of the windshield frame. This would be difficult because of having a full cage, I can't get a screwdriver between the front rollbar and the windshield frame.

Again, anything that would be helpful would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Can you post a pic of your front hoop and your windshield frame? Maybe we can come up with some ideas.

there is a thin 12 ga metal bracket that rivits to the w.s. frame. the draw latch (attached to the top) latches and secures the top to the w.s frame. see below. as far as fiitting with your cage, we would need to see some pics. the draw latch does take up some space to function.

this is similar to the latch i used on my acme top.

Do you have any pics of the setup with the metal bracket riveted to the WS frame?

Any pictures that anybody has would be greatly appreciated....I'll try to get some showing my roll cage in the next couple of days. The top is just sitting on the Jeep right now and I'm not sure it aligns correctly with the windshield at all. Also, is there supposed to be some type of "door jamb" that attaches to the windshield frame as well (like those on a Bestop Super top)?

    Thanks,

you are correct, i have seen a lot of acme tops and am pretty familiar with them. i have only seen one jeep that still had the jamb pieces still intact and installed. on mine, (mine are missing) i will probably form mine from a block of wood then fiberglass or use a shrinker/ stretcher on some aluminum angle to re-create the parts. i have also seen some people adapt the jamb parts that were used with the original whitco tops.

i will take some pics when i have a some time

Im having a problem with the same thing.... I could really use a picture of what you have done, i know I could do some glass work and make it fit but would really like to see some pics before I start ripping into it....:?
