I thought my new wheels cleared the brakes on my Dana 30 swap (and the passenger side did) but the driver side is dragging. What is safe for a maybe 3/16 spacer? I was thinking about just making a simple 6 1/2" disc out of some steel plate I have and drilling 5 @5.5". I think I have read here some No Nos about spacers??

If it just barley drags, it put a little paint on the caliper to find the high spot, then just grind a hair off the caliper.

It’s dragging on a flat Allen head bolt that holds the brakes on. I’m afraid if I grind it there will not be enough bolt left to loosen.

Drill and tap the bracket to take the retaining bolt toward the knuckle away from the wheel.

Switch the brackets and put the allen bolt on the inside. The part number on the bracket should be marked L or R.

Yes, I learned the hard way. I have the same disc set up and the brackets can be swapped to place the allen head on the inside.

Great solution. But I have steel 1 inch spacers for years now and no problems with bearings or else.

I didn't get a new picture but the bolt you see here was mover over to the "U" on the inboard side of the brake mount.
