Hi - New member with a 1967 Jeepster VIN # 870201750789. No sticker on the door jam with a build date. It has 2" front springs with saginaw manual steering which I thought started in 1970. It is a convertible body with a aftermarket soft top. V6 225 with Turbo 400 automatic.

    Jeepster VIN Question

I'm trying to figure out what jeepster I have and could do with some help. I was told it is a '66, but my VIN # seems quite different from those I've seen posted.

    VIN # 3701 016 11158
    Paint 395
    Trim 277
    Top 515

It has V6 and Jeepster decals and front grill looks like that of the Jeepster Commando.
Soft top like convertible sport edition with spare wheel on back and back fender that hugs around wheel.

If anyone can shed any light on this, it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

$sink should be able to tell you the year for sure. You'll find the 3 is actually an 8 as in 8701 which is the Jeepster continental convertible. Can't find my trim code stuff right now, maybe someone else will have it.
Not the best picture I could find of an 8701 but it is a famous one.

OK, I'm running into some strange things with Jeepster serials but yours appears to be a late 69 or more likely early 70 serial. do you have marker lights on the front fenders?

Thanks $sink and Pack Rat - This photo is exactly like mine - only I have red with white top.
Do you know any more info on the history - or where I should search to find out more? Where can I see more photos?
    Much appreciated!
P.S. Pack RatWhy is the photo you posted a famous photo?

No marker lights. I'm wondering if my Jeepster is a combination of models and years by a previous owner.

Dauntless 225 V6, Th400 trans dana 20 the usual in an original. Had a spring over on it when I got it. She needs some TLC but it shouldn't be long before she is runnin'

Sorry hit the button too quick, I am missing the door jam sticker, and can't seem to find the glovebox one either. I do Have a pic of the VIN plate though.

Look over above the battery, may be a trim code there, a lot of them disappeared
over the years, they were just glued on. 69 won't have a sticker on the door jam and none of them had anything in the glove box other that tire inflation sticker.
