Back in the 50's maybe early 60's, were the Koenig PTO's painted or just left the aluminum? Same for the Ramsey winch out front, aluminum, black or what when delivered to be installed?

Have you looked at PTO back by transfer case?

Ramsey literature seems to show black, maybe.

All the Koenigs that I have seen were not painted. I know for a fact that mine was not ever painted, it is the model like in the picture below with no paint and was bought in the early 50s I believe.

Koenig's were coated but in an "aluminum" color so they looked like natural aluminum.

Why coat to look like it would uncoated?

I have had 4 Koenigs, a Ramsey and a Braden
One I sold was a 1940's crankshaft driven Koenig that had a tan color paint on it.
Not sure if that paint was origial back then or not.
Just installed a Koenig 100 underslung design that appears to have no finish.
Have a near identical one that has a clear finnish on it.
Currently rebuildingunderslung a 12 volt Electric Koenig 100 with no finnish on the aluminum casts.
Koenig Model 51 PTO appears unfinnished or possibly has clear finnish.
My Ramsey 246 has a black paint on it and the PTO too.
My Braden had a greenish paint on it.
But this near identical Braden currently seen on Ebay looks grey...
