Center console for older CJ5?

You're right Mike. I think the one you have is a 30 cal. box. I was able to find one this afternoon at a surplus store. Looks small but big enough for my needs. Strange, they were selling the same box with an eye-bolt already installed for an additional $5.

 

Just an update on the Tuffy box. They also come in a 6" wide version. The body is 6" wide, the lid is about 6 1/2" or so wide, then the very front is about 8 1/2" wide to accommodate the radio compartment. I have both the 6" and 8" wide versions in the garage if anyone is interested in pics (not installed in anything). I had a 10" wide version but sold it because it was too wide for anything I have.

Nick do you have space to set them in your jeep to see what it would look like?

 

I was going to try them in the Daughter's '70. I still have to mount the passenger seat so as soon as that's done I can test fit them. The '59 has a cb mounted there and the seats are changing anyway (not stock and mismatched now) so that wouldn't be a test and the '6 is a long way away from having seats mounted. I'm hoping by the end of the month to have one in the daughter's and can post pics when that happens.
